This will require a minimum of Builder privileges for setup and implementation. If utilizing scheduled uploads, it may require consulting with your IT if you do not have access to the Windows Task Scheduler.
The Auto Uploader allows for direct uploading of Excel files and text files (as of v11.3) from a client machine to a Data Hub without requiring the user to log into the Application. Excel files and text files can be uploaded immediately using the Auto Uploader or they can be scheduled for repeated uploads using a scheduling mechanism. Refer to the Administrative Application for details on setting the minimum user role for this feature.
Please Note: The Auto Uploader and the Windows Task Scheduler REQUIRE Administrative Privileges.
- Log into your dashboards as admin.
- Select ADMIN
- Go to System Settings, then Sever Settings and select Builder for: Imported File Auto Upload - Minimum Required Role
- Then Imported Data
- Now Excel Data
- On the left click the Auto Uploader button
- Select ADMIN
- Check the System Requirements to make sure that they are met before you download
- Once you have verified they have been met then click Download Auto Uploader
- Once the Auto Uploader has been downloaded you can double click on it to start installation.
- You may see a Security Warning depending on your organization's policies. If so, click Run.
- The Auto Uploader Setup then appears click Next
- Read through the End-User License Agreement and click the box next to I accept the terms in the License Agreement, then click Next.
- If you do not have a particular installation destination in mind leave it as is and click Next, otherwise select your installation destination and then select Next.
- Click Install to install the Auto Uploader
- Click Finish and the Installation has been completed.
- Then Configure the Auto Uploader for your server with the server url provided
- Please Note: The Auto Uploader and the Windows Task Scheduler REQUIRE Administrative Privileges.

- Right click to open the Auto Uploader as Administrator and copy the URL from the Auto Uploader page in Admin Application

- Then enter your Username and Password for your server (dashboard) login
- If you do not have the Microsoft Access Connectivity Engine installed a message will appear: Install Access Connectivity Engine which states:
- For the most optimal and accurate uploads of your Excel workbooks would you like to download the Microsoft Access Connectivity Engine?
- Here, select Yes. It will then download it.
- Once the Microsoft Access Connectivity Engine has been downloaded, double click to start the installation process, then select Next.
- Read through the End-User License Agreement and click the box next to I accept the terms in the License Agreement, then click Next.
- If you do not have a particular installation destination in mind leave it as is and click Next, otherwise select your installation destination and then select Install.
- Once the installation has completed the following message will appear, then click OK. Your Microsoft Access Connectivity Engine is now fully installed.
- Now click on the gear in the top right for the AutoUploader Application Settings
- The Application Settings will appear and you will want to change the Column Type Determination Strategy from First 8 Rows to All Rows, as if you have any columns of mixed data either: it may not select the right option or it may not allow you to upload the file at all.
- When you go to select All Rows an Access Connectivity Engine Warning will appear stating: Changing this setting will modify the way ALL applications using the Access Connectivity Engine for Excel determine column types. Then click OK.
- Now it will allow you to select All Rows and click Save.
- First we will schedule a task in the Auto Uploader
- Go to Scheduled
- Next New
- Then select either Excel File or Text File
- Select your file to upload
- If you do not need to automate things and have scheduled uploads then your AutoUploader Installation and Configuration is now complete. If you would like to automate this process continue reading.
- Right click to open the Auto Uploader as Administrator and copy the URL from the Auto Uploader page in Admin Application

- Now we will schedule this through the Windows Task Scheduler by going to the Start Menu

- Next Windows Administrative Tools
- Then right click to open the Task Scheduler as an Administrator
- Open the Task Scheduler Library folder
- Next the iDashboards folder
- Then the cloud folder
- Now we will schedule this through the Windows Task Scheduler by going to the Start Menu
- Double Click the Scheduled Task that Ran, select Run whether user is logged in or not, if this is running off a server or computer that may not always be logged in.
- Click OK then you can close out of the Task Scheduler
- Now you can go to your dashboards installation to check that it has uploaded at the time specified.
- Admin -> Imported Data -> Excel Data
- Admin -> Imported Data -> Excel Data
- You have now completed AutoUploader Installation and Configuration with Automation.
