iDashboards has four types of user roles: Viewer, Builder, Data Admin, and Admin. Viewer is the most basic type of user role iDashboards has, but it is also the most common, as not everyone needs the ability to build and manage dashboards. Most users just want to log on to get the information they need, if that is all you want to do then viewer is perfect. The Viewer interface is a view-only interface, regardless of your user role within iDashboards. While charts and dashboards cannot be created or edited, dashboards with charts can be viewed and will be fully interactive. Those with the Viewer user role do not experience the Lobby, as these users will automatically log into the viewer interface.
Please Note: If you are a Builder, Data Admin or Admin, this information is still very useful to you, as you have access to all of these settings and more.
Logging In
Go to iDashboards in your chosen web browser: http://<server:port>/idashboards
Selecting Categories and Dashboards
On the left you see Category and on the right Dashboards, this is your home screen, these are all of the categories and dashboards you will have access to. Some of you may see Recent, Favorites, and only one other category or you may see Recent, Favorites and several other categories like shown in the example above. If you do not see a dashboard or category you are expecting then please contact and Admin user within your company to request access.
