v10.4? |
iDashboards v10.4 doesn't exist. We're advancing so quickly we jumped ahead to v10.5! 😁 |
Recorded Webinar:
Service Releases
- v10.5a (09/30/2020)
- v10.5b (10/27/2020)
New Features
- Simple Data Forms
- This is the flagship feature for this release of iDashboards. Data Forms begin with the ability to create a form using a variety of input controls (text, number, date, etc.) and then place the form onto a dashboard. Each form will be configured to save data into a single database table, which could then be used to build charts or for further processed via the Data Hub. Data entered into the form can also be edited from somewhere within the user interface of the form. The ability to search, edit or delete records will be permission-controlled
-
- Create form from-scratch or from-existing-table.
-
- Forms appear in a dashboard panel
- Updated Chart Designer Buttons
- Previously, the Chart Designer Save button performed the task of Save and Close. Customer feedback asked that we separate those two tasks so that a complicated chart can be saved without having to close the designer. We couldn't agree more! Therefore, the Chart Designer now has the following buttons:
- Save
- Save As...
- Close/Cancel (depending on the pending changes within the chart)
- Previously, the Chart Designer Save button performed the task of Save and Close. Customer feedback asked that we separate those two tasks so that a complicated chart can be saved without having to close the designer. We couldn't agree more! Therefore, the Chart Designer now has the following buttons:
- Improved Dashboard Launcher
- Add Dashboard Thumbnail option, with lots of visual settings
- Clarify the display value (if a dashboard title exists...it will be used)
- Improved tile navigation for View/Build interface - now it's even cooler!
- Added "Copy" option for dashboard/chart/picklist!
- One-Click to open dashboard/chart/picklist
- Moved the properties and Alert/Report/Delete buttons into a sub-menu
- Input Parameter improvements
- Show/Hide chart or dashboard parameters as needed. This will allow parameters to be used but hidden from view. It will also allow some dashboard parameters to appear in one panel and other dashboard parameters to appear in another panel.
-
- Implement parameter controls into the URL of a dashboard (for sharing/launching dashboards with specific parameter values)
- Use input parameter values when generating the dashboard screenshot
- Improved data preview!
- The data preview appears throughout many areas of iDashboards, so these improvements are sure to be noticed. New striping, sorting, spacing, and column-width definition.
Administrative
- Improved Group Administration
- Administrator to globally set the Startup dashboard, Skin color, and Language. This will be configurable when editing the Group, and will be applied to all users Primary Group.
- New User profile image
- Logging improvements
- Using the existing "fv_request_log" table, entries have been updated and improved to capture client-to-server requests.
Data Hub
- New Edit Data Task: Use this task to modify individual values in a data set to a different value of the same data type, through the use of JavaScript. This will help prevent the pattern of using Add Column and Delete Column!
- Added Primary Key (PK) setting to the Target Table designer
- Logging improvements
- Because Scheduled ETL jobs are not client-to-server activities and not logged into the fv_request_log table, a new logging table has been added to record all scheduled ETL activities
