iDashboards has four types of users: Viewer, Builder, Data Admin, and Admin. Viewer is the most basic type of user iDashboards has, but it is also the most common, as not everyone needs the ability to build and manage dashboards. Most users just want to log on to get the information they need, if that is all you want to do then viewer is perfect for you! Here we will show you what you are able to do as an iDashboards Viewer.
Note: If you are a Builder, Data Admin or Admin, this information is still very useful to you, as you have access to all of these settings.

Login to your iDashboards account and this is what you will experience:
Menu Buttons Within the Dashboard
Selecting Categories and Dashboards
On the left you see Category and on the right Dashboards, this is your home screen, these are all of the categories and dashboards you will have access to. Some of you may see Recent, Favorites, and only one other category or you may see Recent, Favorites and several other categories like shown in the example above. If you do not see a dashboard or category you are expecting then please contact and Admin user within your company to ask for access.
The highlighted category is the one you currently have selected, for this example you see Visibility Pack highlighted on the left, so on the right it shows you all of the dashboards within that category.
As you can see in Recent there is only one dashboard I have recently viewed, in favorites there are none as I did not select any favorite dashboards, in Visibility Pack there are 18, Schrödinger's Uncertainty there are 4, and Customers there are 2.

Menu Buttons Within the Dashboard
As you can see there are four (4) menu buttons within the viewer dashboard. The X (close) button on the far top right, hamburger button (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the dashboard, next to that hamburger button to the right there is a folder (open) button, and the multiple boxes (switch) button.
As you can see the X (close) button on the far top right closes the dashboard and brings you back to your home screen or menu of dashboards.
As you can see the hamburger button (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner of the dashboard opens a Settings menu with several options.
- Refresh Dashboard
- There is a handy refresh button, to refresh your dashboards, this is very helpful for those connected to live data feeds as it refreshes more quickly than your browser refresh and it does not risk you being logged out of your dashboards.
- Add as Favorite
- Click Add As Favorite and it will add the dashboards to the Favorites Category for you to easily find. At the start this may not seem necessary but as you build more dashboards it can seem overwhelming trying to find the one you need to access quickly. It will still remain under the category you placed it under.
- Maybe you have too many under favorites or you recently found out you do not need to view a particular dashboard anymore, you can go back into the settings in the opened dashboard and click where you see Remove from Favorites in place of the Add as Favorite selection.
- Enter Dashboard Parameters
- Click Enter Dashboard Parameters to input the selection you need. It will then open up your parameter selection options and once you make your selection click on Show Dashboard and it will open your dashboard using those parameters.
- Export All Chart Data
- Please follow the instructions here: Exporting Dashboard and Chart Data as a Viewer

- The recipient will need to login and have access to this dashboard to view it.
- below that are the buttons:
- Copy on the left to copy the website to paste it where you would like or
- Email which will then open your Outlook email with subject and content already filled out for you, all you have to do is put in email addresses and hit send.
- Clicking on Share Dashboard will open a Share Dashboard window which states:
- Set as Startup Dashboard
- If you would like a particular dashboard to automatically open after you login to your dashboards you can click Select as Startup Dashboard and the next time you login, it will automatically open for you.
- If you would like to remove the set dashboard for startup just go back to that settings menu and hit the Clear button next to the Set as Startup Dashboard button. You will then be taken to the home screen upon logging in, unless you select a new start up dashboard.
- Alerts
- To view any alerts that may have been set up by a builder, data admin or admin click the Alerts button to open in the same window you are currently in. If you would like to open alerts in a new window click the little box with the arrow button next to the Alerts button.
- About
- About gives you useful information about your iDashboards setup which may be asked for if you ever need to contact iDashboards Support for assistance. The first part is the version or build. Then it tells you who it is licensed to and when that license expires. If you notice your license will be expiring soon please contact your iDashboards Admin within your company to remind them to contact their Account Manager to renew their license.
- Help
- Clicking help opens a window giving you a brief Overivew of your dashboard buttons on the home screen. Under Overview you have Details button which gives you more information about being a Viewer and Online Help button which gives you the link to OSKAR to search for your own solutions.
- Buttons found under Using the iDashboards Viewer explains most if not all of the information in this article without having to leave iDashboards or open a new tab or window.
- Buttons found under Alerts Viewer are strictly for information about alerts only.
- User Settings
- In user settings it shows your Username, has a Change Password button, Language drop box, Skin color drop box, Category Sort Order selection options, Dashboard Sort Order selection options, a place to input your email address to get alerts emailed directly to you for when you're away from your dashboards, and Notifications section to say you want to get alerts by email and/or text message and the input boxes for your phone and carrier information.
- Log Out
- It does just that, it logs you out of the software.
As you can see next to that hamburger button to the right there is a folder (open) button which brings you back to your home screen or menu of dashboards so you can choose which dashboard to open next.
Finally, you can see the multiple boxes (switch) button opens a pop up menu to allow you to easily switch between multiple dashboards you've opened since signing on.
