This will require Builder privileges for setup and implementation.
We will create buttons that drill down to charts in a separate frame. We will use two buttons each loading a different chart. This is nice because the charts the buttons load do not need to have any common data.
Creating a 3 Frame Dashboard
- Select the frame that you would like the chart to load
- In the Frame Tag at the top, name the frame
- Open the chart designer in one of the Button frames.
- For the Data Set select Create Data and make two columns
- Enter a string value like a into the first column
- Then a number like 1 the second column then click Next
- For the Axis List add both columns then clikc Next
- For the Data Set select Create Data and make two columns
- From the Presentation Charts, select the Details Chart then Next
- In the Details Chart Settings, for the Image URL Template select an image to use
- Select Drilldown to Chart
- Select the chart you would like the button to load in the Target Chart.
- Lastly, select your Chart Frame using the Target Dashboard Frame menu and save the chart.
- Repeat to create the other Button frames or anything you would like to add to your dashboard.
While we used the Details Charts to create buttons, you can also use Treemap Charts if you would like more options.
