New Features

Knowledge Base

• Insight Hub (iHub): This is the first part of a new feature which is only available within the Knowledge Base. Here, iHub is going to automatically save copies of all AI Insights and emailed PDF Reports, offering a helpful resource when there is a need to retrieve historic information.
  • Previously available only via email, these items will now be archived in an accessible web directory, enabling users to easily retrieve past reports and insights. The feature ensures organized, long-term preservation of valuable information, enhancing the Knowledge Base's utility as a comprehensive resource hub.
• Search & Sort Improvements: Advanced search is now available for finding articles accurately and quickly. Additionally, the sorting has been improved to be more dynamic and understandable.

AI Insights

• Automatic Insights: Each user can now control whether or not use the automatic first AI Insight. Once a user has gained experience with AI Insights, the automatic first question can be turned off in favor of directly asking the question on your mind.

Other Updates

• Unit Symbol: Now allows a single leading or trailing whitespace to help visually separate the symbol from the number value. 
• Drilldown to Webpage: Window parameters were updated to reflect current browser possibilities.
• Improved Chart Labels: A new property called "Text Decoration" will now allow 
• New Pivot Value Default Options: Charts containing a pivot axis now have fine-tune controls over the sort order, initial selection and whether or not to save a specific selection determined within the chart preview.

• Default Selected Value: A new chart property, "Initial Selection", now allows the option to initially select the first or last item in a number of single-row chart types (Gauge, Infographics, Linear, Details, Slideshow, Stoplight)..
• Dual Axis Title Labels: Charts which are capable of displaying a dual axis (Column with Line, Stacked with Line, and Pareto) can now display a user defined Title Label for the right-hand axis. 

• Updated Chart Label Options: Most chart labels have a new property called "Text Decoration" which now supersedes the legacy “Text Shadow” property (sometimes called “Text Halo”). Text Decoration can apply a variety of options for achieving different visibility needs. The updated chart types include:

  • 2D Pie charts, Infographics, Details, Slideshow, Thermometer, Bullet, Treemap, Stoplight, Gauge.

• Updated Range Colors: For the entire Speedometer Chart family, Bullet Chart family, and Thermometer Chart family, there are new options for the indicator color.  When the indicator color is set to "Range", then the indicator will consume the dynamic color based on the range colors defined within the chart.

• Improved Chart Grid: The background grid on some charts have been improved with a new property called "Dynamic Grid Zoom Style". When enabled, the grid will change from the default method to either a "Tight" or "Loose" formula for determining how much additional space should appear beyond the largest data point. For this property to take effect, Dynamic Grid Boundaries must be enabled. 

SMTP Configuration

• OAUTH2 for SMTP Configuration: The administrator can now use OAUTH2 when configuring the SMTP server within the Admin or the Data Hub interface. Supported providers include:
  • Google: Gmail
  • Microsoft 365: Exchange
• Additional Updates: The "From Address" field has been removed from the standard SMTP configuration settings. 

Data Hub

• New Sentiment Analysis Task: Within an ETL job, it is now possible to use the new "Text Sentiment" Task to process a string of text and determine the sentiment. The output values are: positive, negative, or neutral.

  • Fixed an issue within the controls of the Manage Slideshow dialog
• Chart
  • Fixed an issue where for the specific case where a "zero" label appears in the position of the Y2 axis (or higher). We will now hide the zero label (as we do with other stacked chart types). Below is a screenshot of before and after.
    • Note - If the numeric values are "close" to zero on the scale, then the overlap may appear again. In the last example below, the "b" values are 1 and 0.1.

Upgrading

Hosted

If you have a hosted subscription with iDashboards, your instance will be updated in coordination with your Client Success Manager.

On-Premise

To upgrade use the Product Download Site to download the product media (for new clients, you will download the Production Installer.) If you have used the Product Download Site in the past, you will use the same credentials. If you have not, please contact your Client Success Manager and we can help you obtain your credentials. The credentials are often found in your license update emails, beneath the licensing information, you will see download URL, username, and password.
