v12.9 includes the powerful AI Generate, Password Lockout and more.

New Features

AI Generate

AI Generate contains a powerful new set of features that leverages advanced AI technology to help generate new charts based on your written or spoken request. After the request is made, the Chart Designer will appear with a preview of the chart (using a suggested chart type) awaiting your validation or further customization.

This feature works on the basis of generating a custom SQL query, specifically from the data source of your choice.

AI Generate can be used:

• Charts
  • When creating a new chart
  • When editing an existing chart, built with a custom query
• Picklists
  • When creating a new picklist
  • When editing an existing picklist, built with a custom query
• Data Hub > Data Set
  • When creating a Data Set
  • When editing an existing Data Set, built with a custom query
• Data Hub > ETL > "Execute SQL Script" task
  • When configuring a new Execute SQL Script task
  • When editing an existing Execute SQL Script task
• Coming soon in a service release
  • When configuring any JavaScript or Regular Expression editor!

New AI Chart - Example

• Here, the Builder decides whether to create a chart using the normal process or to harness the power of AI.

• AI Generate requires you to first select which data source to use. The list of data sources in this dialog are determined by the administrator, based on enabling AI Generate for each data source as needed. In this example, the use selects the popular AdventureWorks Data Source.
• Using the microphone, or keyboard, the Builder makes the request.

• In just a moment, the Chart Designer is fully configured, showing a preview of the chart, and is ready to be saved if there is nothing left to adjust.

• By chance, the Builder remembers one more thing.
• Without any additional context, the Builder makes an additional request.

• Another moment later, we have the final chart, showing exactly what was needed!

This is just one workflow for how AI Generate can increase the speed and quality of your charts, while reducing the technical bandwidth needed to determine data requirements and syntax!

AI Insights

• Released in v12.8a, AI Insights now allows for voice capture to discuss the analysis of your chart.

Administration

• Password Rule Enforcement
  • Released in v12.8a, Once Password Rules are enabled, they can now be enforced upon the next user login.
• Password Lockout
  • This is a new security feature which can lock out a user account after a determined number of consecutive, failed login attempts. The administrator can set the number of failed attempts
  • Can be enabled/disabled by an administrator.

Upgrading

Hosted

If you have a hosted subscription with iDashboards, your instance will be updated in coordination with your Client Success Manager.

On-Premise

To upgrade use the Product Download Site to download the product media (for new clients, you will download the Production Installer.) If you have used the Product Download Site in the past, you will use the same credentials. If you have not, please contact your Client Success Manager and we can help you obtain your credentials. The credentials are often found in your license update emails, beneath the licensing information, you will see download URL, username, and password.
