New Features

AI Insights

AI Insights is a powerful new feature that leverages advanced AI technology to provide an in-depth analysis of your data within charts. Through an unlimited exploratory data analysis (EDA), receive clear and concise answers tailored to your questions, with visual representations where applicable.

Initial Insight Detections:

Based on the type and the amount of data, AI Insights can help you explore the following items.

• Outlier: Quickly identify unusual data points or anomalies in your dataset.
• Statistical Analysis: Gain an understanding of the central tendencies, variability, and other important statistical properties of your data.
• Total Summaries: View overall totals and summaries for key metrics in your data.
• Trend Analysis: Discover patterns and trends over time to better understand your data's progression.
• Predictive Insights: Forecast future outcomes and trends based on historical data and AI algorithms.

Interactive Chat Interface:

• Ask Data-Related Questions: Utilize the chat dialog to ask specific questions about your data, such as "What is the average sales for the last quarter?" or "Show me the trend in monthly expenses."
• Tailored Responses: Receive clear and concise answers tailored to your questions, with visual representations where applicable.

Availability:

• AI Insights is an opt-in feature and will require an update to your license.
  • A license key is required (feature not available with a license file)
• AI Insights is available now for all users as part of the latest update to our software platform. Specifically, any viewer role who can view dashboards will be able to use AI Insights on new or existing charts.
• Give it a try today and unlock the power of AI in your data analysis!

1. Start the AI Insights conversation:

• From the Chart Menu, or right-click menu, select “AI Insights ✨”
• The initial question we ask is just an ice breaker to get you started. 
• At the time of launch, we are including 20x new insights, per user, per day. 

2. Review the AI Insight

• A new AI Insight will provide a variety of accurate and insightful comments about your chart data. Initial results are likely to be unique every time!
• Assess the Insight and use the Copy button to capture the response for pasting into a chat or message.

3. Ask an unlimited number of follow up questions

• Ask any number of targeted and follow up questions about the original chart AI Insight.
• Try asking "Can you provide me any tips about this data?"

Forms > New Cascading Dropdown Fields

Using picklists, Forms can now be designed to use connected lists which filter selection options "downstream". And this feature will even restrict the downstream fields from being selected prior to making selection "upstream". 

• Here, we see the options for "City" are not yet available until a "State" value is selected.

• Once a "State" value has been selected, the filtered list of cities will become available.

Password Security Manager

In an effort to improve application security, administrators have a new option to enable Password Rules. As part of the login authentication process, password rules can control a variety of parameters as shown in the screenshot below.

• Form emails have improved using the email macro
• New tooltips within the Administrative Data Source dialog

Upgrading

Hosted

If you have a hosted subscription with iDashboards, your instance will be updated in coordination with your Client Success Manager.

On-Premise

To upgrade use the Product Download Site to download the product media (for new clients, you will download the Production Installer.) If you have used the Product Download Site in the past, you will use the same credentials. If you have not, please contact your Client Success Manager and we can help you obtain your credentials. The credentials are often found in your license update emails, beneath the licensing information, you will see download URL, username, and password.
