New Features
AI Command Updates

AI Command > Speak Back
This is a feature of AI Command and requires setup prior to use. When used, Speak Back will audibly speak data values from the columns and rows of a data set, or a chart data set. Parameters will be considered, if applicable.
- Charts using the numeric and date formatting configured with the Chart Designer, will honor the formatting
- Data Sets will allow, and honor the numeric and date formatting within the AI Command configuration
- Include an introductory statement. For example:
- "Great question!"
- Format how the data will be spoken back. For example:
- "For the city ${value:City}, the sales are ${value:Sales} dollars"
AI Command > Dynamic Parameters
This is a feature of AI Command which accommodates for parameters within the chart or dashboard. This allows a single command to be used in a number of ways based on the parameter values. For example, suppose there is a dashboard named "Sales" that has parameters with the labels 'city' and 'product type'. The spoken AI Commands could look like any of these statements:
- "Show me sales for the city Detroit and the product type trucks"
- "Show me sales for the city Chicago and the product type cars"
Similarly, Dynamic Parameters are friendly with most date parameter for statements like this:
- "Show me sales for February 21st, 2024"
- "Show me sales for yesterday"
Minimized Chart Panel
Minimized Panel Apps was originally released in v12.1 as a way to have a panel (like Text, Image, QR Code, etc) first appear as a text button or image button. In this release, a minimized chart panel option has been added, allowing a chart to first appear minimized and then fully appear in the same frame, in a popup dialog, or as a slideout!
Other New Features
- Online/Offline Data Source: For a number of reasons, a data source may becomes unavailable and therefore cause lengthy delays. If the data source is not repaired right away, the lengthy delays are an inconvenience because in many places throughout the application, data sources are refreshed, and the broken data sources will cause the refresh to take much longer, and will fill the log files with error messages and stack traces.
This release includes the ability to toggle a data source as "Offline" or "Online".
- Data Hub and the Google Analytics API: Google retired the Universal Analytics (UA) API and rolled out a new API, Google Analytics v4 (GA4). At the same time, Google stopped collecting data through UA and only collects new data via GA4.
The Data Hub Google Analytics API was built to use UA and now only contains historic data (which is likely not the expectation moving forward).
This release include the new Google Analytics API (GA4) which can be used to collect new data. There is no more support for the older UA API.
- Hotkeys and Page Focus: The application continues to add tooltips, keyboard hotkeys and initial cursor placement help to improve navigation.
