This will require Builder privileges for setup and implementation.
Issue:
Dashboard builders may want to be able to have users access a dashboard from a drilldown but not give the viewers direct access to open the dashboard from a particular category. Drilldowns are not allowed to dashboards for viewers who do not have access to a particular category (default). If a user does not have permission to view or save to a particular category, they will not be able to drilldown to a dashboard in that category either. An error will occur for the user in the interface that states the following:
You no longer have access rights to the dashboard:
<dashboardname>
Resolution:
Since version 8 of iDashboards we made some changes to help with being able to customize what your users see. Now to disable dashboards from view. Select the dashboard that you would like to hide, you will see the gear in the top right corner of the dashboard. Selecting this will bring up a menu, within the menu select Extended Dashboard Properties. In the properties menu you will see the option Hide in Dashboard List by selecting this option you will hide the dashboard from the menu option.
Please Note: This makes the behavior of dashboard drilldowns similar to that of chart drilldowns, in which users may drill down to any chart regardless of their groups' access to its category.
