CPU and RAM Requirements
System Requirements
- Operating System - Microsoft Windows 2012 or higher, or any version of UNIX or Linux for which a Java Virtual Machine is available.
- Application Server - Any J2EE-compliant application server that supports at least the Servlet 3.0 API and the JSP (Java Server Pages) 2.2 API. Any J2EE application server released since 2011 should suffice. This is included with our Production Installer, however customers are responsible for keeping their iDashboards environment upgraded.

Java 8 and above no longer supports the use of any ODBC connections. While iDashboards can still function, this will not allow iDashboards to use Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Access direct connections any more. Excel files can still be used and need to be uploaded to the iDashobards Workbook database through the admin or data admin console before they can be used. Access can still be used with JDBC drivers that are available. Other ODBC connects can be written to a SQL database or the source would need some form of JDBC driver. Tomcat 10.1 Java 17 or higher will be necessary. |

- Java - A Java Development Kit (JDK) depending on the requirements of the application server must be installed on the server. A JDK includes a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) to run the application server, and a Java compiler to compile JSP pages. This is included with our Production Installer, customers are responsible for keeping their iDashboards environment upgraded.
- Database Server - Supported repository databases include these minimum versions. Microsoft SQL Server 2014, Oracle 12c, PostgreSQL 9.6 and MySQL 5.7. This is your responsibility to install prior to your installation call. Please contact our Support Team if you need assistance.
- JDBC Drivers - JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) drivers for the target database, and any database used as the Data Source for a dashboard. JDBC drivers are usually bundled with a database, or they can be downloaded for free from the vendor’s website. This is included with our Production Installer (exception: Oracle drivers), customers are responsible for keeping their iDashboards environment upgraded. iDashboards Support Team does assist with database connections, however they are no proficient in all database connections as thousands currently exist.
Client
- Browser - Any current browser supporting HTML5 content. Microsoft Edge, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome are all supported Browsers. All browsers should be 64 bit. Browsers can use a large amount of memory coupled with data being sent to the system this could easily exhaust the maximum memory allotment of a 32-bit browser. Keeping your browser fully updated at all times will help minimize any performance issues you may have. Please contact our TruOI Support Team if you need assistance.
- iDashboards Auto Uploader - Support XLSX and XLS formatted excel files.
- Requires a system with the Microsoft ADO drivers installed. This is not part of a standard installation but we can assist with setting it up should you want to use it, just let support know so we can best facilitate a smooth installation of both iDashboards and the Auto Uploader.
