Data Sources: Enabling Custom Queries

This requires Data Admin privileges to setup and Builder for implementation.

iDashboards provides the functionality to create a dynamic chart by selecting a single database table, view or stored procedure. Custom SQL Queries extends this functionality by providing the capability to specify a unique query to retrieve data from a dataset for a particular chart which is only available if it has been enabled within the Data Source setup

For an Existing Data Source

1. Log into iDashboards Data Admin or Admin
2. Select Data Sources
3. Find the Data Source you would like to enable Custom SQL Queries and Edit the Data Source
4. Select the Quote Table and Column Names box
5. Then Save your Data Source

For a New Data Source

1. Log into iDashboards Data Admin or Admin
2. Select Data Sources
3. If this is a new Data Source fill out all highlighted fields:
   • For MS SQL Server 2000-2016
   • For MySQL
   • For Oracle Thin
   • For PostgreSQL
   • For Most Other Data Sources
4. Then Save your Data Source
