This will require Admin privileges to setup and Data Admin for implementation.
The iDashboards Data Administrator is the mid level user role which experiences the Lobby. The Lobby is a special landing page that only appears when two conditions exist:
- Device type = Desktop Browser
- User role = Builder, Data Admin or Admin (User role NOT a Viewer)
The Lobby requires you to navigate into the interface you want to experience. If your user role is the Data Admin user role, you will see the options: View, Build, Admin, Moderate comments and Data Hub. For the Data Hub Lobby you will see the options: Data Sources, New Data Set, Edit Data Set, Imported Data, New ETL Job, Edit ETL Job, Server Status.
iDashboards Data Hub is an application focusing on the hosting and manipulating of data. This application is intended to assist with complex data-related tasks which are not always possible within the iDashboards Builder Application. There are two main components of the iDashboards Data Hub: Data Manipulation via ETL and a special Microsoft Excel Database for optimizing the way organizations use Excel files as a data source within the iDashboards Application.
- Data Storage
- Connecting Data Sources
- Creating Data Sets
- Configure, Connect and Initialize the Excel Database
- Upload Excel Files
- Checking the Status of Uploads
- Import Data
- Connect to a native built API
- Use within the Dashboards Application
- Data Manipulation
- Identifying Data Stores and Target Tables
- Editing Data Sets
- Transforming data with ETL Jobs
- Extract, Transform, and Load
- Scheduling ETL Jobs
- Checking the Status of ETL jobs
Unlike Viewer and Builder, Data Admin can: Manage the Data Storage, use Data Manipulation tools, creating connections to external Data Sources, Excel Data and Imported Files, organizing your Content (often images), and manage System settings, such as: setting up and enabling Authentication, connecting to API Accounts with our native built APIs, Imported Data Configuration, Import/Export, Logs (Log Files), View the Server Status, View the Data Hub Manual, Chane Password, License information, Languages, and the About section which gives important environmental information without obtaining a log file.
So you have access all of the functions to ALL of the previously listed sections of the Knowledge Base for the viewer and builder, as well as Data Admin and Data Hub.
The iDashboards Data Hub is intended to be installed on, or within the same network as the Production Installation of the iDashboards Application Server. See the iDashboards Admin Manual for details. If the above is unable to resolve the issue, then please contact iDashboards Support for further assistance.
